How To Make More Money With Affiliate Programs

by: Mario Sanchez

Affiliate programs are one of the web's most effective marketing techniques. They create a win-win situation by which site A refers a visitor to site B, and site B pays site A a commission if that visitor purchases something. If you are the referrer site (affiliate), you can make money with no overhead (no product, no warehouse, no collection risk). On the other hand, the destination site receives a steady stream of qualified leads from hundreds, maybe thousands of affiliate sites, and doesn't have to spend a dime unless a visitor purchases something.

To maximize effectiveness, affiliate sites need to keep in mind some common sense suggestions:

1) Resist the temptation to add too many affiliate links. Affiliate link overkill confuses visitors and hurts credibility. You want your visitors to view your site as a value-adding destination and not just a cheesy sales site. Recommend links to products you have tried, or that come from good, solid companies. Don't recommend something you don't know just because you're getting paid. Give your visitors the best advice and they will reward you.

2) If you write articles for your website, try not to include the affiliate links in the body of your articles: it will give the impression that you have a vested interest in recommending them. You want your visitors to trust your advice, so don't turn your article into an excuse to promote products and make a commission.

It's OK to include affiliate links, but do it on a side bar or on a resource table. Whenever possible, link to your affiliate partners with text links (since banner ad click-through is at its lower rate ever, and people tend to ignore banners).

3) Include only affiliate links that are related to your business and the topic of interest to your visitors. Links to unrelated products will not generate good leads for the destination sites (and therefore won't be a source of significant commissions for you), so they are best avoided.

4) Managing your affiliate programs can be a hassle if you have to deal with many different companies. Try to sign up with a site that administers many affiliate programs to chose from (one of the best out there are Commission Junction [www.cj.com] and Befree.com [www.befree.com]).

These sites give you hundreds of affiliate programs to chose from, and act as a one-stop shop where you can sign up with multiple vendors using only one account and receiving one consolidated commission check.

5) Chose affiliate partners that offer long term cookies. A cookie is a mechanism that allows the destination site to know when a visitor is referred by your site. A long term cookie (for example, a three months cookie) means that a visitor who follows a link to one of your affiliate partners today but doesn't purchase anything, can come back and purchase at anytime during the next three months and you will still be paid a commission.

The best programs are those who offer unlimited cookies (although there are not so many of them around). However, a 90-day cookie or more is very good.

6) Link directly to the product page and not to the main page of the destination site. If you link to the main page, the visitor will have to find its way to the product and may not find it, making you lose commissions. By linking directly to the product, you will increase the prospects of the visitor buying the product (and of you making a commission).

Many destination sites, like Amazon, recognize this fact and offer a higher commission to affiliates that link directly to the product pages than to those who only link to the main page.

Follow these simple guidelines and you will improve your chances of success with all your affiliate programs.

How to make money with Affiliate Programs - The Sensible Way

by: Xavier Nelson
Every day, thousands of would-be marketers scour the internet looking for any and every affiliate program, sign up, sit back and wait for the money to pour in and get frustrated just as
fast when the bank balance still shows a big, fat ZERO!

There are tons of guru's floating around and even more eBooks and articles claiming to know the latest and greatest trick to make tons of money with no effort at all (oh and of course, unless you use their method then you will never, ever get anywhere in your online business and stay broke the rest of your life). We've all seen these before.

Let's get real for a moment.
If you don't put any effort into your marketing and don't spread the word of whatever you are marketing, then you will get exactly that much out of your effort.  Zero effort = Zero results!
I hope that's plain enough and now let's have a look at the sensible way to market your affiliate programs, so you can actually earn some of that Internet-Money-Pie (and it's yummy too).

There are two types of affiliate programs generally. Those that pay you (1-tier) and those that pay you, plus they pay you a  bonus for actions taken by visitors sent by other webmasters you have referred (2-tier).

Let's think about that for a moment. What's the easier way to make money? You sell a bunch of products and get paid on that alone, or if you sell product and also introduce the affiliate program to a bunch of webmasters who in turn also sell and they earn a nice commission and you get a bonus every single time they sell something, just for having referred them to the affiliate program?

Ok, I know you probably just smacked your forhead and said 'Duh' quite loudly and think I am stating the plain and  obvious.

If you can get others to do the same thing you are doing, by keeping in touch with them and helping them and duplicating your efforts, then of course it stands to reason that the bonus you receive for referring the webmasters will generate potentially a large team of people making you money.

So, your first task is to find good, well-paying 2-tier affiliate programs. You can always use single tier programs as a back end sale or on other projects, don't get me wrong, they will still make you money, but right now, we want to get you started off on the right foot to your own internet income.

So, you've gone out and found a well-paying affiliate program, and you are ready to rumble and make money... Not So Fast!!!

How are you going to promote it? What is your plan of attack? That's another problem many marketers run into, they just run off and don't think before they act and that again results in a lot less return for all of your efforts.

Here's what I have done in the past and always do each time. Feel free to try this out and see the results for yourself.

After finding the affiliate program I want to promote, I check the resource material provided by the program. Sometimes, depending on how new the program is, I use their material to get things rolling but almost every time, I start to write some ads of my own, perhaps an article or even an ebook that I can use to promote the product and the affiliate program with. Some of those resources are available to readers of the eBusinessCornerNews newsletter if you are interested.

Another thing I do, after putting together all the marketing material I want to use is to check out the competion that's already in the market. I don't really care if there is competition, as a matter of fact, many times that is a good indicator that there is a good demand for the type of product I  am promoting. You can do this pretty easily by just going to a search engine and typing in keywords you associate with the product for example (there are a lot of additional ways to do this that we discuss in our newsletter).

There are a ton of places you can advertise your product, and the marketing material you are using, such as article directories, free advertising forums or websites, you can even find a lot of ezines that allow you to place free classifieds and websites you can post your ad on, at no cost.

Another thing that is handy to have is a website of my own, where I can post my thoughts and comments (nothing sells better than your own, plain english comments and reviews) along with any other articles I can find that will help to draw visitors in and make the search engines list my site better.

Most of the time, I will take a few of my articles and turn them into a free ebook, or post the articles in article directories where other webmasters are permitted to reprint them in their own newsletter, provided they leave my resource box (see the bottom of this article for an example) in place.  So now they are spreading the word for me, driving traffic on my behalf and generating orders too.

But I like to help, as much as I like to earn money too, so here's what I do most of the time.
When I find a good newsletter that I like then I touch base with that publisher and offer him the article, but I also tell him it's for a 2-tier affiliate program and if he would like, then he could use my article, if he either leaves my box in place or signs up under me and then I let him add his link into my box, so he can earn the bigger piece of the pie and I get the bonus commissions from his sales.

Now, why would I do that? Simple...
I do that, because there's a much better chance that he will send out my article sooner, rather than later because now he has the potential to earn money with it too.

Find a few publishers like that and you are well on your road to getting a nice piece of the pie and the great thing is that anytime you find a new affiliate program to promote and write a new article, you already have made contacts that you can send it to, so it gets easier every time and takes a lot less effort on your part.

Well, there you have the sensible way of making money with affiliate programs.
(Note: There are a lot of other methods available to market your affiliate program and earn money, but this is one of the best methods I have ever used.)

How to Make Money Online with Affiliate Programs!

by: Ross Dalangin
While there are many different paths you can take to making money with Affiliate Programs online, it is not as easy as the so-called professionals say it is, but it can be done. Infact, many people are doing it and making a large impact on their incomes.

Did you know that the largest mistake that people make with affiliate programs is that they join too many programs at one time. This is the number one reason why affiliates do not make enough money online. Be sure not to fall into the same category as those people.

Having studied affiliate marketing for some time now, one thing that is learned quickly si that promotion methods can and do change every day. We will provide you with a few things that you will and should learn to get the edge in the affiliate market:

You will need to learn what programs to stay away from and how to choose an affiliate program that is right for you.

· Find out from others what works and what does not work, many times you will have to test things for yourself. Trial and error works, and when someone else has already done it, then this becomes easier for you.
· Find out from others in forums, which programs are high paying and are working the best.
· Do not waste your time on programs that are just starting out.
· It is not easy, you will have to work if you intend to make money.
· Find as many resources as possible and read and learn about what others are doing.

· Determine the amount of time that you can spend each day or week promoting your affiliate programs.

· If you have a job, it is recommended that you continue working until you are at a comfortable income level to quit.

With so many people getting into affiliate marketing, because there is usually no cost to join the program, eighty percent of the revenue made is by twenty percent of the affiliate marketers. With effort, persistence, determination and drive, you too can be one of the people making the money online in affiliate marketing.

The fact is that many Affiliates earn more money each day than most people do in a month. The potential is a definite thing and more and more people are discovering the advantages of staying home and making money online through affiliate programs.

Remember your success will depend on the effort that you put in. However here's the eBook that can help you. http://www.webquartet.com/befamous

How to make money from affiliate programs without spending a

by: Christopher Kyalo
There is no doubt that the most successful group amongst online entrepreneurs are affiliates. Few are willing to go public about it but it is widely known that that there are a number of affiliates comfortably raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in income every year.

Actually there is one very powerful advantage that online entrepreneurs involved in affiliate programs have over their counterparts earning from their own ecommerce web sites. And that is the fact that people are usually bound to believe a person referring another web site to them much more easily and quickly than one trying to promote their own site. This coupled with the fact that the Internet is an amazingly powerful referral marketing tool has made the rise of online affiliates phenomenal within such a short time.

But there is one major stumbling block that affiliates face today. And that is how to advertise their programs or how to generate enough sales leads. To be successful in any online venture a person needs numerous leads on an ongoing basis, that way they will have a chance of turning as many of them as possible into actual sales.

Many affiliates generate leads by finding ways of harvesting email addresses of visitors to their web sites to create an opt-in email list which they then use as leads to refer to their affiliate sites. This is usually done via special links to the sites that identify the particular affiliate through which a visitor arrived at a certain site.

The more prosperous affiliates use pay-per-click ads. The effectiveness of these ads is being eroded daily by the increasing number of fraudsters and scum artists who have invaded pay-per-click ads in droves. This has meant that out of the total click-throughs a person receives and has to pay for, an increasingly horrifying percentage are generated by fraudsters who have no intention of buying anything from the advertised web site.

That leaves one extremely effective form of online advertising that is in fact free. This is free articles posted at various targeted high traffic web sites.

The net is full of experts and many of them have been quoted as saying that articles alone are not enough to generate the sort of traffic that brings success. My advice is that people should not be too quick to comment on and pass sweeping judgment on subjects that they have only had brief experiences in. As you read this there are an increasing number of online entrepreneurs making serious money online using only articles as their marketing tool. Including the writer of this particular article.

The other thing that has caused many to doubt the effectiveness of articles is the fact that they are free. Free but effective? Does it not sound too good to be true?

Actually although using articles as a marketing tool is free, you will be required to spend time putting in lots of hard work consistently, to really reap the rewards. So there is a price to pay after all, although it is not in the form of hard cash.

In fact in many cases, used skillfully, articles can be much more effective than web sites in generating quality leads. Here’s how.

How To Make $10,500 Promoting Affiliate Programs

by: Scott Adams

I’ve heard some people say that no one is making money online anymore. Ever heard something like that? Well it couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m making plenty. So let’s put that myth aside right now!

You see, not so long ago I was struggling to pay my bills, relying on a tiny income from a few web sites that I manage. The money would trickle in. $20 here. $5 there.
Then I discovered a technique that’s made me as much as $10,500 in a single month!

While trying to find ways to make more money with my web sites, I was exploring affiliate programs. And I came across the concept of advertising affiliate products through Pay-Per-Click search engines.

The amazing thing was I didn’t even need a web site to do it!
But paying for clicks? It sounded more like a way to spend money than to make it! Anyway, I decided that at the very least it was worth checking out.

The concept is simple.
1. Choose a product – one that has an affiliate program.
2. Set up an advertising campaign at a PPC search engine like Google and choose how much you want to pay per click.
3. Write a three line advertisement and add your affiliate link.
4. Whenever anyone clicks through your ad and buys the product, you earn a commission.

I started by conducting several test campaigns and quickly had one or two showing some early promise. Over the next two weeks I tested around 25 campaigns for a whole range of affiliate products.

Three weeks after starting I had several profitable campaigns. So I boosted these campaigns using some techniques which I discovered and discuss in my book Affiliate Adventure.

In my second month my net profit was a little more than $10,500.
That’s around £6,000.
Or $14,000 Australian dollars.

Not a bad paycheck. And I’ve been earning similar amounts every month since then.
Does it sound easy? Well, if it was too easy then everyone from your granny to the mailman would be doing it.

In fact, while the concept is simple, getting your campaigns to run profitably takes some expertise.
That's where my book, Affiliate Adventure, will really help you. It will breathe life into your affiliate marketing campaigns by telling you exactly how to get started in this business and which mistakes to avoid from the very beginning.

I’m finally making the kind of money online that I always dreamed about.
By promoting affiliate programs at Pay Per Click Search engines, you can too.

How to Find an Affiliate Program For Any Niche in 2 Minutes…

by: Anik Singal
There is a great trend lately of marketers finally moving to niche markets and not just focusing on selling to the “make money” industry. This is an excellent move and one that will prove to be very profitable for you. However, a problem that many affiliates are hitting is that they don’t know how to find good niche affiliate programs.

If there isn’t a program in Clickbank, most affiliates are lost! Also, since Clickbank doesn’t allow us to “search” their database, it’s too hard to find anything there.

Well, here is a quick and easy way to find any and all of the best and most profitable affiliate program for any niche you desire.

To find affiliate programs from now on you will use Google to help you. Google is a great tool to use because…
1. It’s free
2. Any site that comes up on the top results is likely reputable and has been around
3. You get thousands of results you can search through
4. You can make your search very specific

Alright, let’s discuss in steps, how to Google to find affiliate programs.
1. Go over to http://www.Google.com
2.Type your “Niche Title + affiliate” – This is the step that a lot of people can get confused in so let’s clear it right now. Example/ If I am searching for an affiliate program on dog health, I will type this phrase into Google = dog health + affiliate
3. Now the results that I get, all the pages that have the term “dog health” and the term “affiliate” will show up.
4. Next open a program like Excel or just take out a piece of paper.
5. Go through the results in Google and keep noting down the different programs that come up.
6. Once you have 10 programs listed, go back and research each of them to find the most profitable one.

Try this strategy on search engines like Yahoo as well. You will get different results and combined between Yahoo and Google, there is no way that you won’t find a good affiliate program.

What if you don’t find any affiliate programs this way?
Then most likely an affiliate program for your niche does not exist. A great way to make money now is to contact a few of these websites and introduce the concept to them! Perhaps help them set up an affiliate script and share in profits – actually, if there is no affiliate program in that nice, you and that company can make BIG profits from it!

There, now you have NO excused not to find profitable niches and build websites for them. You can now find a profitable affiliate program for them all.

How to Evaluate an Affiliate Program

by: Sanjay Johari
There are thousands of affiliate programs offering wide range of benefits to their affiliates. However, many of these programs and the claims they make are not to be trusted. Good affiliate programs provide tremendous earning opportunities, but they need to be evaluated to distinguish them from doubtful ones. There are several factors to consider before someone decides to join any affiliate program.

Products: Organizations which operate affiliate programs generally have some products to sell. These products can be in form of physical products, e-products or services. It is important to ascertain that the organization has some products to sell and that it recruits affiliates to help them in running their business. One should be very careful with any organization that has recruitment of affiliates as their main business. It is best to avoid such organizations because their affiliate structure is like a house of cards which can crumble at slightest impact.

The organizations which have products to sell and market them thru affiliate programs cut down on the cost of advertising and distribution. This amounts to considerable savings which they share with their affiliates. If a new affiliate is already familiar with the products, this can be helpful but this is not a necessary pre-condition to join affiliate program. New affiliates can learn about the products quite fast.

Organization's Track Record : It is not difficult to find out about the organization before joining it affiliate program. Search engines are one of the sources which can be used for this purpose. Verifying the testimonials presented by the organization is another source of information. The organization should have proven track record of operating their programs for several years successfully. If the organization is new or just starting, the person starting the program should be well known with good credibility. This is precaution against joining organizations which promise get-rich-quick scheme and then disappear.

Support Available to Affiliates : Most of the new affiliates joining any affiliate program are new to the field of marketing on the internet. They need guidance and support for promoting their business and earning money for themselves. It is in the interest of the organization to help their affiliates to succeed.

These organizations are in their business for considerable longer time than the affiliates, are more knowledgeable about their market and about the ways of promoting their products. They are in best position to provide their affiliates with proper guidance. Many organizations have excellent support system by way of trainings, tutorials, articles, books, marketing plans, marketing tools, forums just to name a few. These are generally available from websites accessible to the affiliates.

Apart form the promotional material and information available from the website, personal guidance can be vital. A new affiliate may not be familiar with all the resources available and will look for mentoring at least in initial stages. It should be remembered by the affiliate that her success will add to the success of the organization, the organization is obliged to help her.

Payment : Another factor to consider is the mode and frequency of payment to the affiliates. The affiliate should make sure that this suits her. Just to give an example - many organizations make payments thru PayPal, but PayPal does not transmit money to all the countries. Such details should be checked before putting time and effort for any affiliate program.

Affiliate Structure : There are many different ways in which organizations build up their affiliate structure. Many organizations have single tier structure in which affiliate is only paid commission for sale. Other affiliate structures are 2-level or multi-level deep in which the affiliate earns also from the efforts of personally sponsored members. In turn, the affiliate is expected to help her sponsored members to earn for themselves. This is one great feature of multi-level marketing leading to leveraged earning. You can read my article on leveraged earning at this URL :

There are still more variations in the structure. Some organizations allow a limited number of affiliates directly under each affiliate. There is no "ideal" affiliate structure. But it is important to have clarity in the structure and the affiliate should understand the structure.

Compensation Plan : There is lot of variation in compensation plans starting from simple commission to more elaborate plan in which affiliates additionally earn thru the efforts of their sponsored downline members and also from a common pool. I personally favor plans which have provision for leveraged earnings where teamwork really counts.

Residual earning is another attractive feature of affiliate marketing which can build into sizeable income over a period of time. I am not against any compensation plan so long as it is understandable and appears reasonable. You have perhaps noticed that I have put this factor as the last consideration. However it is an important consideration after all other considerations are found acceptable.

Persistence Pays - It takes time to build up business with any affiliate program, no matter how good the program appears. After joining any affiliate program after thorough evaluation, one needs to stay with the program giving it time to build the earning. Get-rich-quick scheme do work some times but they are rare exception rather than the rule and cannot be depended upon.

This small slogan should be ingrained in the thinking when someone joins an affiliate program:

PERSISTENCE PAYS.

How To Create A Profitable Affiliate Program In 72 Hours--OR

by: Bill Nieporte
Associate Program (APs--also called Affiliate Programs and Reseller Programs) are among the hottest moneymaking opportunities available on the Internet today. Easy to join, you can be up and running within an hour.

Success in the AP marketplace is not certain. Like any other business venture--AP marketing success takes time, effort, and a certain amount of investment before you receive a profitable return.

Several articles have been written in the last six months about how to build a successful Associate Program business. In fact, I've written one of these articles [you can request a copy of "Developing a Strategy That Will Earn You $3000.00 From Associate Programs!" at mailto:earn$3000@infogeneratorpro.com].

One subject that hasn't been addressed is how the average person can get an affiliate program up and running with a minimal investment. In the next few moments I am going to show you exactly how you can set up an affiliate program in less than 72 hours. With the exception of product development or acquisition, your expense will be less than $100.00!

As a bonus, your bookkeeping responsibilities are going to be limited. You see a third party, for a very minimal processing fee, will do payment processing and affiliate recording keeping.
Ready to learn how to make some money? Great! Let's do it!

STEP ONE--GET YOUR PRODUCT

What are you going to be selling?
For starters, you will need a product or service that can be delivered almost immediately via the Internet! Your options here are not as limited as you may think. Perhaps you publish a newsletter and want to increase your advertising revenue. Maybe you've written an e-book and would like to earn some extra $$$ for all your hard work. If you are a programmer, you might have a handy software tool that you'd like to share with the masses. It could be that you own the reprint rights to somebody else's product and would like to sell these and start earning some income!

For the purposes of this illustration, I have created an affiliate program for selling advertising space in my Ezine, *The Success In Life Newsletter."

==========SIDE BAR==========

There are hundreds of other authors/programmers who provide resell rights for their products. You've just got to take the time to find the RIGHT ONE. Unless you've got a product in hand right now, it could take a day or two to find something that you want to resell. But it will be worth the effort.

(Please note that I am making NO promises as to how much money you will make selling this product. I am offering this simply to illustrate how quickly and easily you can set up your very own affiliate program. When you've finished with this little project, you'll be able to repeat this technique for ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE you want to market.)

==========SIDE BAR==========

Now that you have a product (or at least know what to look for) it is time for...

STEP TWO--BUILD YOUR SALES PAGE

First you need web space! If you have a domain--that's great. For our purposes, however, even one of those free sites will do. [Remember--I am just showing you how to get started! When you've finished this little project you'll be able to repeat it over andover again in a much more sophisticated manner.]

1) Establish a FREE account right now with a free web host. This should take you a little less that 30 minutes!

2) Write a sales letter to sell your product. If you need help here I suggest you click over Yanik Silver's *Instant Sales Letters* site. Yanik provides a terrific arsenal of powerful,
