How To Use Articles To Build Your Affiliate Program

by: Michael Southon
Articles are the perfect promotional tool for your affiliates - they bring in more sales than banners, book covers, and ezine ads. Your affiliates can post them on their website, use them in their newsletter, or turn them into a free eBook.

One the easiest ways to build your affiliate program is to offer your articles as a zip file and allow people to replace the link in the resource box with their affiliate link.

Here is how to do it:
1. Copy all your articles as text files, formatted to 60 characters-per-line, to a single folder on your hard disk.
2. Create another text file in the same folder called 'index of articles' which lists each article by title and file name.
3. In the 'index of articles' write a brief message explaining how to join your affiliate program and how to customize the affiliate link in the resource box.

You can see an example of this at:
http://www.ezine-writer.com/michael-southon-articles.zip
Then just zip your 'articles' folder using WinZip. WinZip is free and can be downloaded from: http://www.winzip.com/download.htm

To create a zip file using WinZip, just follow these steps:
1. Open WinZip and click on 'File' and 'New Archive'.
2. In the 'New Archive' box, choose a folder where you want to save your zip file
3. Choose a name for your zip file and press OK
4. In the 'Add' window, browse until you find your 'articles' folder and double-click
5. Click on 'Add with wildcards'

That's it! Your articles zip file has been created.
Offer your articles zip file for free download in as many places as possible:
  • on the index page of your website

  • on your affiliates tool kit page

  • in the welcome message for your newsletter

  • in your email mini course

  • as a bonus gift to your customers
  • in your sig file
This technique will not only increase sales of your existing affiliates - it will quickly bring you dozens of new affiliates.

Good luck with your articles!

How to Tell If an Affiliate Program is Any Good

by: Clay Mabbitt
This article addresses what to look for an avoid in examining online money making opportunities.
The wide variety and flexibility of money making opportunities available on line means there is no concrete list of attributes a program should or should not have. This makes it extremely difficult for inexperienced entrepreneurs to make heads or tails of all the programs out there.

How can you be sure that you aren't spending months of your life building a downline in a program that will fold within the next year? Unfortunately, there are too many variables for anyone to be 100% certain that a company will stand the test of time, but there are certain clues that will increase your odds of being right.

Here are things to look for (and lookout for!) in some of the major categories of online opportunities to help you identify which businesses are most likely to succeed.

Product Resale/Referral
The first thing to examine is the product. Does this product fill a need that more than a few isolated people have? Is the price of the product reasonable (even to someone who isn't participating in the program)? Would you buy the product if you weren't in the program? If the answers to these questions aren't satisfactory, than the business won't be around long. Move on.

The second thing to examine is the compensation plan. How likely is it you will make money in this program? Is the program structured so that most people can make several hundred to several thousand dollars a month, or is it set up so a few heavy-hitters make absurd amounts of money that the company can use in its marketing literature while members with less than several thousand referrals in their downline struggle to break even? If it isn't possible to break even by filling the first level or two of the program, the majority of the people who join the program will lose money.

Traffic Generation
There are two successful approaches to traffic generation. The first is winning the numbers games. By that I mean if you get a ridiculously large number of random people to visit your site, odds are at least a few of them will be interested in what you have to offer. The visitors who are interested might be a tiny fraction of your total, but if you bringing enough traffic, a small percent can mean quite a few bites.

Good examples of these programs will allow you unlimited downlines for multiple levels. The programs should be free (or it will take more effort than it is worth getting people to join). The website for the program should be very professional and convincing, as this site is going to be closing the deal for you when potential referrals click your link.

The second approach to traffic generation is targeting. Targeting traffic is the practice of pursuing the people who are most likely to be interested in your offer. If you have a hardware site, you are trying to get contractors and handymen to visit. Instead of focusing on a large number of visitors, you pursue the select group who is most likely to be interested in your site.

The value of these programs depends largely on their categories. These programs will segment traffic into different categories. The visitors you receive are directed to your site by the program because they are interested in whatever category you chose for your program. So if there is a category that very accurately describes your area, you will experience better results.

If you run an investment banking web site, then you would want to find a program that will bring you traffic under the category Investment Banking. Not quite as good would be a category of Finance. If the traffic sent to you is under the category Business, then you're still getting better than untargeted traffic, but not by much.
Note: Many traffic generation programs will use a combination of both of the above approaches.

Paid Email/Surfing
A good paid email/surfing program is one that actually sends out payments. These companies make their money (some of which is passed onto you) from advertisers. Some programs have difficulty collecting payments from their advertisers. As a result they don't have money to pay the members who are spending their free time reading ads for vitamins and discount vacations.

The question then becomes how do you know a program can collect from the advertisers. The simplest indicator is often time. How long has the program been around? Another good indication is the quality of their offers. If the offers of their advertisers are at least moderately interesting, then it's more likely some of the people viewing these offers are signing up for them. Advertisers are sure to pay (and continue to pay) for marketing methods that get results.

Internet Marketing
If you want to create an Internet scam, masquerading as an Internet marketing program is one of the easiest ways to go about it. Even in legitimate marketing programs, the product being sold is information. Inherent to the sale of information is the fact no one can check out the product until they've paid for it, however, that does not mean that you can't check out the company.

Newsgroups are crawling with the tales of people who have been scammed. Do a search on the program name, and you will quickly discover how many people have been burned. Having said that, you should realize that even the best programs will have a few negative comments in the newsgroups. There are always people who signed up for a program and simply waited for the cash to start rolling in instead of putting effort into building an income.

When these lazy folks didn't magically become wealthy, they decided to shout from the rooftops (or message boards) how their program was full of empty promises. Be sure to read through the messages and get a feel for how much effort the poster really put into trying to make the program work. You can get a better picture of the quality of the program by looking for posts in different places from different people.

How to Succeed with Affiliate Programs

by: Nissar Jagani
Affiliate programs are the first choice of most newcomers to net earnings because they have many advantages:
1. All you have to do is to join a merchant program as an affiliate and send visitors to the merchant site
2. All other work such as making a sale, delivering the product or service, receiving payment, attending to the complaints or making a refund, is handled by the merchant site.
3. The merchant site also sees to it that you are paid commission when a sale is made through your efforts.
4. You are also rewarded when a sale is made through the efforts of an affiliate referred by you to the merchant site.

All easy and simple. But most affiliates soon find that in spite of their best efforts they are not making any money.

This is because the affiliate earnings depend not on how many visitors they send to the merchant site, but how many of them buy the product or service of the merchant.

So just sending visitors to the merchant site is not enough.
You can do this easily by joining traffic exchange or autosurf programs. Your merchant site will be seen hundreds of times but it will not make a sale. This is because these visitors are not interested in your site. They are looking at it to earn credits so they can show their site to others.

This is not to say that traffic programs have no use at all.
I have used them successfully to build my downline in free-to-join programs, but have never made a sale through them. Most members of such programs are promoting their own programs. They could get interested in joining other opportunities, but would rarely go for a product themselves.

So if you want to earn from affiliate programs, the thing to do is to send interested visitors to your merchant site.

Who is an interested visitor?
This is the visitor who reached your site by himself. He is looking for the product you are promoting. This is why he took the trouble of finding it from a search engine or from the particular kind of ads or forums.

This visitor is red hot for a sale. He is already interested in your product. If he finds what he wants on your merchant site, he is very much likely to look at the product's features, mentally compare it with other similar products, ask for more information by giving his email address. All this can lead to a sale and a commission for you.

How to target interested visitors
The best way to reach interested visitors is promoting your products through search engines submissions, placing catchy ads, posting in forums or through your own website.

This may sound daunting to newcomers at first but all these are do-able with a little effort. You can get help for mastering all these skills from the resources freely available on the internet.

Joining right affiliate programs can also help a good deal to gain affiliate mastery. While great many affiliate programs give you a few text ads and banners and be done with you, there are some programs that give valuable training to succeed.

Be positive
Most newcomers to internet earning fail because they expect to be rich in a week, if not overnight. When this doesn't happen as it rarely does in real life, they get discouraged. They are also influenced by others who like them tried but failed to earn with affiliate programs. The result -- they give up, frustrated.

The reality is that nobody becomes rich overnight in internet marketing. You have to work at it consistently. Most important of all, banish negative thinking from your life and believe that if others have succeeded, you, too, can and will.

That perhaps is the most important ingredient for your success.

How to start your own Affiliate Program – Internet Marketing

by: Joanne King
This is how most entrepreneurs become filthy stinking rich! EVEN Ebay has an affiliate program!
The truth is its hard generating traffic on your own and if you want massive amounts of traffic this is the best way I know of. The great thing about creating your own affiliate program is you don’t have to pay a cent until one of your affiliates makes a sale.

However in order to get affiliates to want to promote your product, you do need to make it enticing for them. If you’re selling a digital product where you make basically 100% of the profits then your affiliates will be expecting a decent cut of the profits. After all, advertising can be quite expensive. It needs to be worth “their” while.

If your digital product sells for $97 ++ and you offer a 50% commission… your not going to have any troubles getting affiliates to sign on and promote your product (unless of course your salescopy isn’t up to scratch or your product has a bad reputation, I’ve seen that happen before).

Writing up your affiliate page and making it easier for your affiliates to promote your product will be of great benefit to you as well. After all, writing up email promotions, ezines, banners etc… is going to be a whole lot easier for you then what it will be for your affiliate because NO-ONE knows YOUR products as well as you do!

So how can you get an affiliate program?
Well there are quite a few options… Probably the most popular affiliate program would be ClickBank’s. Once you make your first sale (and they also give you the option of making the sale yourself) then they will index your site in their affiliate programs to promote. This gives you a large audience to find eager and waiting affiliates.

You can also get other affiliate programs that give you greater control and tracking, just do a search in Google for “Affiliate Software”

How to select an affiliate program that works for you

by: Thomas Wall

Affiliate programs are a great means of earning some handy cash; but not all affiliate programs are profitable. Some will only take up your time and energy and some others may even spoil your website reputation. This is why you got to carefully select your affiliate marketing programs and make sure that they work for you same as your work for them. Given below are a few points that will help you make better decision in choosing an affiliate program that works for you rather than working only for the affiliate merchant.

Points to take into consideration before selecting an affiliate program
1.) Your website and your visitors
If you already have a website, make sure to go for best affiliate programs
that jell with your website theme. If your website is about cars then promoting cycle related products is going to have very less or no impact.

Secondly finding and scrutinizing your visitors and your target market is a good idea. In any affiliate program, your visitor is the one who is going to get you returns. So primarily get to know your visitors. Analyze your visitor behavior using your website statistics before deciding on which affiliate program to go for. Your objective should be to find out what your visitors are looking for and then promote products of their interest which also match with your existing products or services (if any).

2.) Affiliate merchant’s website
Most affiliates don’t give much importance to the affiliate merchant’s website, forgetting the fact that here’s where the actual sales conversion is to take place. It’s very important that the affiliate merchant’s website is designed to sell. So check and make sure that the merchant’s website is free from unwanted banner advertisements/pop-ups and focus on the affiliate product.

Other important things to check out are the sales copy, privacy policy, product guarantees, after sales service and special discounts/offers available with the product/service. Your main aim must be to find out if the product/service features would actually prompt the referred visitor to make a purchase.

Some affiliate merchants promote more than one product/service on a webpage which can dilute the conversion rate. It is best to go for affiliate programs that focus on a single product/service per webpage.

3.) Quality of goods/services
Just imagine how you would feel, if you were referred by a website to a product that turned out to be of inferior quality? Your visitors will feel the same way about your website if you promote inferior or overly priced goods/services. Always make sure to know about the product/service you are planning to promote. Check for testimonials and references from existing customers to find out about the quality of goods. If possible you can even plan on using them yourself to be on the safer side. In addition, also make sure to compare similar products available over the internet for features and rates.

There are many products that have trial periods or return policies associated with them. Products having return policies can increase the conversion rate but may also lead to debiting in case of a chargeback. Promoting products sold on a trial period basis requires cookie detection to track sales at the end of the period which is very unreliable. So it’s better to confirm with the affiliate merchant the tracking method used or the affiliate payment scheme, in case the products have trial periods.

4.) Reputation of the affiliate merchant
The reputation of the affiliate merchant is important because the odds are against you. There are chances that some affiliate merchants may not payout or make deductions to your actual payments. So make sure to find out using references about the affiliate merchant’s history of making proper payments.

Already existing affiliates of the affiliate merchant are your best source of information. In addition be sure to read their business literature to get an idea about their history of past and present operations.

5.) Commission scheme of the affiliate program
There are many different types of commission schemes that affiliate programs use to reward their affiliates. Some of the most popular ones are pay per click, pay per lead and pay per sale schemes. Some others even offer two tiered and multi tiered commission schemes. Some commission schemes can even be a mix and match of the above.

In case of a pay per click/hit scheme the minimum commission that you can expect is $0.5 to $0.10 per click. For pay per sale a good commission rate would be 15% to 50%. Some companies even offer lifetime commissions, but as most of them are based on cookie identification, they may not work out well.

With the competition increasing almost all merchants have started offering two tiered commissions, some even offer multi tiered ones. Joining these schemes can give you a chance to get paid for the direct sales you make and also for the sales made by affiliates referred by you.

6.) Tracking software used
Tracking software is used by the affiliate merchant to track individual affiliate sales. An affiliate merchant can make use of in-house tracking software, join an affiliate network or use services of an ASP in order to track leads.

In case the affiliate merchant makes use of independent tracking software or ASP services, make sure to find out if the software is reliable and has the ability to track all kinds of sales. If the software uses cookie tracking, find out the duration of the cookie. Although using cookies to track affiliates does not always work fine as the cookies can be deleted by the buyer.

Most affiliate merchants today make use of affiliate network services. Affiliate network services are the safest when it comes to making payments on time, conflict resolution and accurate tracking. Affiliate Networks are also great sources to find good affiliate programs and can help you get payments from different merchants through a single cheque. So make sure to register at some good networks. Some reputed affiliate network services are commission junction, LinkShare, Clickxgalore, and ClickTrade.

7.) Terms and conditions for payment
You do all the hard work as an affiliate and hence you should make sure that you get paid for it. There are chances that the affiliate merchant might have some unwanted rules and regulations in his affiliate agreement; so in-case you don’t like to get a bitter shock in the aftermath, be sure to check out the terms and conditions with utmost care. Some things that you got to look out for in the terms and conditions are as follows,

a.) Payment frequency/Payout rate
Make sure that the affiliate merchant makes payments at the end of every month or with- in a few days afterward. Anything above 2 months for making payments is not advisable. Also find out the mode of making payments. Payment gateways are safer and faster as compared to cheques.

b.) Payment for future sales
Many visitors won’t buy products on their first visit. They might come back though after some time to make the purchase. Make sure that the affiliate merchant pays you for future sales made by a customer referred by you. Although the chances that you get credit for future sales is low due to cookie deletion possibilities, but it is better to have options open.

c.) Minimum Balance Amount for payout
Most affiliate merchants and affiliate networks have a minimum amount for payout. An affiliate would require reaching that amount to get a payment. Find out the minimum balance and estimate if the target is easily achievable for the given product/service.

d.) Roll over/carry over terms
Roll-overs or carry-overs are related to the minimum balance. If the affiliate fails to achieve the minimum balance within a month (or the set payment date), the payment keeps rolling on. Although this is not a problem, some merchant’s may have a fixed rollover period after which the payments will not be issued. Joining such programs is not recommended.

e.) Conditions for Charge-backs on product return
Some merchants have a product return policy which allows the buyer to get full refund in-case he is dissatisfied with the product. The period within which the buyer should return the product to get a refund is called the chargeback period. Make sure to take note of the chargeback period of the merchant and also find out how much of your commission will be debited if this happens. Although products having a return policy will have a better conversion rate they can also lead to the affiliate’s cash getting debited or completely taken back.

In addition to the payment terms some other conditions that you got to check out are the ‘condition of exclusivity’ (which could mean the affiliate cannot promote any other product except the affiliate product/service or that he should not promote competitor products/services) and conflict resolution method of the merchant.

8.) Additional facilities offered
In addition to simply offering banner ads most good affiliate merchants offer other facilities like, real time sales statistics and tracking information, free training on how to promote the products/services, newsletters, affiliate help lines and even website improvement programs. Some affiliate merchants even offer their affiliates a say in their decision making process.

Many good affiliate merchants also have a policy of rewarding better performing affiliates with incentives, over and above the commissions. Joining such programs can really be a rewarding experience.

To succeed in the affiliate marketing game requires knowledge of promoting goods/services not only through your website but also using other online promotion means like email marketing, online advertisements etc. So, make it a point to do lots of reading and information gathering before plunging into the arena. There are many websites that offer quality resources and information on affiliate programs. Some good ones to refer are http://www.bizbrim.com, affiliate-programs-guide.com and affiliatesdirectory.com.

How to Run A Successful Affiliate Program

by: Adam Waxler
There are many people who log onto the internet everyday looking for a way to make money online.
They start with all the best intentions, but unfortunately, before they know it they are getting bombarded with information and are simply spinning their wheels.

I completely understand this. There is so much internet marketing information online and once you get started it seems like “information overload”.

Therefore, I will try to keep this as simple and short as possible.
Many people will sign up with an affiliate program promoting the affiliate’s product or program. This makes sense. Starting as an affiliate marketer is probably the easiest way to get started online. There are many affiliate programs out there that will give you everything you need to promote their products or program…Well almost everything.

You see, many of these affiliate sites will give you a website, but you don’t own the site. It is a gateway site. You don’t even own the domain name for that matter.

Being part of one of these programs is not bad though. I belong to several. SFI is a perfect example. I joined their program and have several sites that they gave me to promote their products and their affiliate program.

But if you are truly going to make money with these types of sites you are going to have to do a lot more than simply sign up for their program.
It is simply unreasonable to think that people are going to just stumble upon your site and sign up for your program and start making you money.

There are a few things you need to do if you truly want to make an affiliate program work.
First of all, you must have your “own” web page with your “own” domain name and your “own” host. You will then have links from your “own” site to the other “gateway” site(s). You will promote your gateway site it, but you will promote it through your own site.

There are so many reasons for this I couldn’t possible fit it into this one article, but basically the site is yours to run the way you want to. Think of it this way…it is “your” store and you are selling “their” product.

Your web page could be designed as a short sales letter that focuses primarily on this one program if that is what you choose. Or, you could focus on several affiliate programs and products within the same market. For example, a sales letter with the top 3-5 money making opportunities.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: Either way, promoting one program/product or promoting several, you will not only want to own your own site, you definitely want to be able to “drop in” on potential customers from time to time. What I mean by that is you want to capture email addresses of people who visit your site.

To do so you need to give something away that is of enough value that people are willing to give up their email address and receive something from you week after week or at least month after month.
A newsletter/ezine is perfect for this. Send out a weekly or monthly newsletter on your topic that includes articles, tips, e-courses, bonuses etc. This way you can plug your programs over and over again (not just once).

I know this sounds like a lot…design your own web site and your own newsletter.
However, there are programs available that actually set everything up for you, including a website, an autoresponder, a pre-written newsletter, and even unlimited support.

Plug-in-Profit (PIPS) (http://www.money-teacher.com/pluginprofitsite.htm) is a perfect example. You can have a web site that site is 100% yours to change however you wish. The site comes ready to promote 5 different programs. You could work with as many of them as you want and you can also add your own.

You also get a pre-written newsletter and autoresponder that is also 100% customizable. The newsletter is obviously designed to promote the programs that come with the web site, but you can change it however you wish.

PIPS may or may not be what you are looking for; however, if you truly want to be successful online you will definitely need your own web site and your own newsletter.

How To Pyramid Affiliate Programs Into A Solid Income

by: John Colanzi.
There are an unlimited number of Affiliate programs on the internet.
Most of them are designed to put money in your pockets. To succeed with them you must be dedicated and put in a lot of hard work!

If you can sell to a "waiting market," you'll make money.
You must make it easy for your recruits to duplicate your efforts. If you leave them drifting aimlessly without your direction, you haven't got much of a chance.

It doesn't matter how good your program is. Most affiliates don't make money. They don't know how to get their offers to the right prospects at a reasonable cost.

They need your help.
Your first step is to create the most dynamic sales letter you can come up with.

Your sales letter should be benefit packed, letting them know that you can solve their money problems. If you canshow them how to earn a solid income they will be eager tojoin your program.
Make it as easy as possible for your prospects to sign up.

Keep the costs for getting started affordable.
Many of the affiliate programs even offer Free sign up or a Free "test drive" of the program before a decision has to be made.

Marketers have a fear of being ripped off, especially if your program is a fairly new one.
If the enrollment fees are reasonable or if the program offers a Free "test drive", a much larger percentage of your leads will be willing to "take a chance."

Once you've built an educated downline, that is profiting with your program, it is just a matter of plugging in your winning formula into the next program. As each program turns a profit, you can roll into a new money making venture.

Setting up your system and educating your affiliates for the first venture will take the most time and effort. After that you're ready to build your empire one moneymaker at a time.
Wishing You Success

How To Promote Affiliate Programs With Much More Success - P

by: Jim Boere
Create your own promotion material.
I realize that may sound like a strange thing to say. After all, you probably found a whole range of ready-to-use ads and websites in all shapes and sizes when you logged in to your affiliate account! And I'm not saying you shouldn't use those. But I do advise you to create your own variations on them as well.

Think that's too difficult? You'll be surprised...
Let me explain the why and the how.
Most affiliates use the exact same ads in the exact same ways, in the exact same places. Now, I believe over time that inevitably makes those ads less effective. Especially if the program is well-known and has who knows how many thousands of members!

People will get used to seeing those same ads over and over again, and so they loose their impact. People will grow immune to them, so to speak...

But that can actually good news! You can use this fact to your advantage...
By being original.

You see, the vast majority of affiliates does not realize the importance of what I've just told you. And even those that do; some of them aren't very creative and simply don't come up with their own ideas. Others are just plain lazy... The result is the same: they use the same ads for a long time, often even for as long as they remain an affiliate.

And that gives you a brilliant opportunity to stand out from the crowd.
Create your own promotion material!
Present prospects with something fresh, something new. Replace the 'same old stuff' they've already seen ten times before and have grown immune to.

You'll find that people will pay much more attention to your ads. Result: a higher response rate...and more affiliates in your downline.

Let's look at ways to easily create your own promotion material.
1) Write your own articles.
For the 'why' of writing articles, I refer to my article "Why You Should Write An Article, Today!" which you can read online at: http://www.onlinebizpromotion.com/homebiz1.htm

I also suggest you subscribe to my free eCourse on affiliate marketing. It covers the 'how' of writing articles, and it comes with six fully rebrandable and rewritable articles you can instantly use to promote any affiliate program you want.

2) Add an original incentive to your opt-in form.
The opt-in form is the most direct approach. You put an opt-in form on your website, and people can sign-up. For this to work well though, there will have to be 'something in it' for your visitors. They aren't likely to sign-up for anything just to do you a favor...

You'll want to give them something of value, for free. A powerful encouragement. Ideally, it's something that other affiliates can't offer. For example:

* Write a special report on how to be successful with the program in question, and offer it as a PDF file.
* Write a "How to Get Started with ..." eCourse.
* Offer a report, eBook or software program that is relevant for, and complimentary to, the affiliate program you're promoting. This should not be a product that can easily be found elsewhere. Or at least not for free.
* Offer one-on-one coaching, either by email or by phone.
* Offer a combination of the above.
* Maybe you have another idea? Then go ahead and try it!
A more indirect approach is the...

3) Warm-up page, with a personal touch.
This can be a single page, where you tell the visitor about your own experience with the program. You'll want to focus on a few of the biggest benefits of the program - and/or the program's retail product(s), and elaborate on those. What did it do for you?

Don't bother listing a ton of technical details or fancy features, but stick to the benefits. Those are your most powerful selling points.

Here's an example. I have this page on my own website, and it's promoting the program that I personally started my online venture with: http://www.onlinebizpromotion.com/NoteOnPIPS.htm
You can see how I've made it personal by explaining how the program helped ME. And how that adds credibility to my 'story'.

How To Profit From Affiliate Programs Working just 10 to 20

by: Keegan Michaels
The beauty of the Internet is you can own your own business and earn good money without spending much time at it. You don't have to mind the store or keep office hours. You don't even have to be there to answer the phone.

I've known any number of successful Internet entrepreneurs who got started earning profits online while still working demanding full-time jobs. Kevin Needham of Memail.com became a major name  on the Web while still holding down his government job. The media often tells the story of Jim Daniels who started his online publishing empire while working as a middle-manager for a tech firm.

Kevin Nunley was a DJ at an oldies station when his articles started appearing on AOL. Superstar Internet biz person and tech consultant Kate Schultz was a corporate manager when she began posting her own ads online.

The moral of these stories is don't let your busy life stand in the way of your desire to earn extra money or even a good living online. The Internet will bend, twist, and adapt for you more than any other kind of business.

But you have to go at it the right way or you will wind up spending way more time and money than you intended. Here is a simple plan to get you earning online while working at it just 10
to 20 minutes each day.

1. Choose your affiliate program wisely. You will want one main program you can promote intensively. It is much easier to make an impact with one good program you market heavily than spreading yourself too thin over a dozen or more programs.

Right now affiliates report their biggest earners are information products that tell affiliate program members and others how to earn better profits. Ken Envoy's "Make Your Site Sell" course, Corey Rudl's "Insider Secrets," and Jim Daniels' big "Make A Living Online" are real winners in this category.

You can also do well working with a company that represents many products and other affiliate programs. Check the many affiliate products and services housed under the ClickBank.com umbrella. QuinStreet.com features direct marketing services and ecommerce technology.

2. Market to friends and associates using a simple signature file in your email. This is dirt simple yet incredibly powerful. Email messages have a very personal quality that sells. Your
email program will let you set this up.

Your sig file should start with a headline that tweaks the reader's interest. Then follow with your web site address and your autoresponder address (more on this later.) Here's what
your "sig" might look like.

3. Remember how I promised you would only have to work 10 to 20 minutes per day? The key to this is using the Internet's ability to automate tasks.

No question about it, you will want a series of canned email messages you can send to people who are interested. Use a multiple autoresponder to do this (freeautobot.com is a good one.) When someone emails your autoresponder address, they get your messages, one each day.

Chances are the affiliate program offers sales letters you can use. If not, get a professional writer to help you put together three sales letters. A set of three often works as well as the more common seven messages.

4. Finally, get your own web site. It is super easy to build a nice page or two using the free systems at Tripod.com and Homestead.com.

While most marketing on the Net is done with email, customers expect you have a web site with additional information. Rather than using the free site the affiliate program gives you, create your own site. Your site can tell your story, help people get to know you, tell why you support the affiliate product, then link to your affiliate member site.

There are two reasons for this. Starting prospects with your ownsite gives you a lot more power to sell. You can tell the story of how you used the product and succeeded (very powerful!) and  display additional products or services that compliment your main affiliate offer.

Most search engines won't list a canned affiliate site, but they WILL list the original site you create. Search engines can be an immense automated source of free visitors. That's all it takes! Do these four things 10 to 20 minutes per day and you will be well on your way to earning with affiliate programs.

Recent stats show the average person spends 20 hours per week online. If you get organized, there is no reason you can't use at least a little of your weekly Internet time to work your own small business.
